Location:
Situated just outside the village
of Witheridge, some 12 miles from Tiverton, Devon, Newhouse
Farm is completely rural.
In the centre of the Devon Heartland
and set amidst unspoilt countryside Newhouse Farm offers
a sense of incomparable peace and unrivalled tranquillity
from the moment you arrive. It is an enchanting region
of the county with many wooded valleys associated with
the path of the Little Dart River, and some of the most
spectacular scenery.
Whatever the season, visitors can
relax in the midst of 23 acres of flower-filled meadows
and woodland. Footpaths wind steeply down to the river
and lake, offering quiet corners and picnic spots. The
land is not actively farmed and thus free from pesticides
and artificial fertilisers and has an abundance of wildlife
- including the resident badgers, barn owls and red
deer.
Devonshire Heartland provides
some of the finest walking and cycling in the South
West of England via a network of dedicated footpaths
and quiet country lanes. If all this is not enough to
keep you entertained, then our location within the county
means that it is easy motoring to the North and South
Devon coastal regions and to Dartmoor and Exmoor National
Parks. Should you feel a little more adventurous then
golf, horse riding, tennis, fishing and the excitement
of all terrain quad bikes and go-carts are all within
easy reach. In fact, Newhouse
Farm is ideally situated
for exploring the whole of Devon.
Directions:
Witheridge is a 30-minute drive
from Junction 27 of the M5 Motorway. Leave the motorway
at Junction 27 and take the A361 North Devon Link Road
towards Tiverton/Barnstaple.
Leave the A361 dual carriageway by
turning left at the roundabout following signs to Witheridge
and B3137. At the second roundabout turn right (Kennedy
Way), passing the Morrison’s supermarket on your
left (straight across that roundabout) and then turn
right at the next roundabout. Look out for the sign
for the B3137 Witheridge Road, second turning on the
left (Long Drag Hill).
At Witheridge, continue to drive
through the village and turn right immediately after
passing the church. Carry on down the hill, and cross
the river at the bottom. Follow the road around to the
right, which then turns up the valley beneath the trees.
Newhouse Farm is the second entrance on the left.
